This last summer we packed our traveling bag and began our trip with high hopes and excitement. We arrived at the local high speed transportation facility only to run into a man who has navigated a star ship and confounded the Bazinga singing Sheldon time and time again. Next we ran into an old friend who was still finishing writing Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series. We boarded the transportation vehicle and away we went. Several hours later, a movie, a few chapters in my book, and we landed in the land of colts with the high hopes of promised glory. We arrived at the convention center where Gen Con was to be held only to realize…That the world of geek was much larger then we realized! We got our passes and entered into the exhibit hall and squeak with excitement and awe. We were like little Kender running through the hall with every little thing catching our eye and distracting us from our goal. Finally we found our way to the hall booth of Wizards to find the way guards by the dark elf Drizzt Do’Urden and his faithful feline companion. Within those walls we found ourselves quaking in fear before the mighty Lloth as she toward over us demanding fealty and we quickly begged for our lives! We fled from Lloth’s gave to find ourselves free once more to roam the land and speak to the many others that were within the booth of Wizards. It is hear that we united with a friend and companion from broadcast past, Shelly Mazzanoble! We had our Warrior, Jack of all trades, Diplomat, and part time sorceress. What could go wrong? Computer glitches, hunger, and sore feet! But we braved it all! We witnessed the many great things to come with D&D Next at the keynote event. We received treasures and accolades from the guardians of the booth of Wizards and we returned home champions. We were tired; the days were long, and the adventure grand! When we arrived at the local high speed transportation facility we found ourselves return home with the bard, Hickman.
